Thank you to Matt Corn for speaking at our monthly Cookies ‘n Convos event! Matt spoke about how he began as an Air Traffic Controller in the US Air Force and his journey to becoming the Tower Manager at Lakeland Linder International Airport today. He discussed many topics, including daily operations, emergency procedures, and the track to becoming an Air Traffic Controller. After an open Q&A and filling up on cookies, families interacted with ATC simulators using an iPad and explored the Florida Air Museum.

Interested in coming to Cookies ‘n Convos? Each month a new speaker talks briefly about what they do in aviation/aerospace and why they love it. The speaker then leads a Q&A session so that young people and their parents can learn more about each career field, especially how to pursue each field as a personal career option! Per the event title, there will be snacks, and the whole family can stick around to participate in hands-on activities. Content is geared for kids in grades 2-5, but all are welcome to attend!
Members of the Florida Air Museum receive FREE admission to this event. Non-member cost is $5.00 per person at the door.
