Teacher’s Took Flight at Classroom to the Sky

On Saturday, September 20, 2017, The Aerospace Center for Excellence hosted the annual Classroom to the Sky event for educators across Central Florida including Polk, Hillsborough, Lake, and Orange counties. The morning began with a pancake breakfast provided by EAA Chapter 454 then the 24 participants were invited into the Bernie Little Classroom in the 727 for presentations by aerospace professionals. The goal was to educate teachers on how they can incorporate aerospace concepts into their curriculum and inform them of the resources that are available. To wrap up the day, the teachers were taken on a flight in a single engine aircraft by members of the Lakeland Aeroclub and other volunteer pilots.
