The Aerospace Center for Excellence welcomes Kaitlin Conway as the new Scholarship Associate

Lakeland, FL: The Aerospace Center for Excellence welcomes Kaitlin Conway as the new Scholarship Associate!

Kaitlin’s love of aviation has been present since she was a child, with her family gifting her a trip to an airshow as a birthday gift. After moving to Florida from New Jersey, she visited Polk State to get some information on their aviation program and she decided to sign up for it. She is pursuing a degree in the Professional Pilot program at Polk State College. She got her Private license in August of 2021 and attained her Instrument rating in January 2022. She is working on finishing her Commercial license and has signed up for lessons to become a Certified Flight Instructor. Her future aspirations in aviation are to be a cargo pilot with her eye set on working for FedEx or potentially Amazon.

Outside of school, Kaitlin is a member of the Polk State Flight Team and Safety Team. She also is a part of Women in Aviation. This past June she took part in the Women’s Air Race Classic.

We are thrilled to have Kaitlin join the ACE Staff!
