You don’t have to go far to sleep under the stars. The SUN ‘n FUN Expo Campus has several camping opportunities, ranging from individual full hook-up RV sites to group and event camping. Find your camping style and enjoy!   Monthly rates for stays for 30 days or longer are available.

Background Check

BACKGROUND CHECK is required for all adults (18 and over) who plan to stay in our campground 21 days or more. (Background check fee $15 pp).

Arrivals and Departures

CHECK-IN FROM 12-6 PM | CHECK-OUT BY 11 AM – No Staging permitted!

Arrival, Check-In and Official Permit – All campground guests are required to check in upon arrival.

Special Group/Event Camping – We request campers plan to arrive onsite prior to dusk.  If arrival is made after dusk without prior arrangements, staging may be available in the fenced lot (42 Acres) across Medulla Rd. from Rocky Rd. entrance. A campsite will be issued to you the next morning.  No access or camper placement is permitted in the campground after dusk.

Campground General Information

  • The individual registering for the campsite must be camping on the site and will be held responsible for their guests and the site’s condition and ensuring all rules are followed.
  • No individual tent camping is permitted.
  • Only established group tent camping is permitted
  • All group camping must be approved by the SUN ‘n FUN Camping team.
  • Long-term campers (21+ days) must pass a background check.
  • Please secure your personal items and lock your vehicles and RVs. SNF is not responsible for lost items.
  • Showerhouses and a limited number of portable toilets are available for all campers.
  • Manual dump stations are available free of charge for all campers.
  • Dump stations are available free of charge for all paid campers.  Pump-out services are available for a charge of $50 per service – Please call 727-365-0176 (Imperial Restrooms) to make arrangements and pay for your service.
  • “Pack out your Trash” required. Please dispose of all trash in trash barrels or dumpsters located outside of the Early Bird Campground and across the street from Raiders Campground.
  • Do not leave trash on your campsite.
  • SUN ‘n FUN is a private, non-governmental entity that controls all access to the SUN ‘n FUN Campus and all use of its property and reserves the right to exclude anyone at any time from its grounds.

Fires, Grills and Generators

  • Fires are permitted based on the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Fire Danger Index (FDACS FDI) for Polk County.  Ground fires are not allowed in any area of the campground. All fires must be above ground in fire-approved containers, such as grills or fire containers.
  • Do not place coals in trash cans and on the ground.
  • Fire Hub – All posted rules must be followed
  • Generators may be operated from 8 AM – 10 PM unless parked in the 24-Hour Generator Campground (marked area).

Golf Carts and Bicycles

  • Private golf carts may be driven only in campground areas and the golf cart paths.
  • Drivers must be licensed and golf carts must be insured.
  • Please drive slowly, observe all onsite speed limits and watch for pedestrians.
  • Bicycles are allowed on the entire campus (No Airside Access).

Good Neighbor Policies

  • Quiet hours are 10 PM – 8 AM.
  • To provide a positive experience for all visitors we do not allow amplified music or speakers (i.e. other campers should not be able to hear your music).
  • Please do not disturb your neighbor with loud music, noises, or parties after 10 PM.
  • No RV movement after dark.
  • The speed limit in all areas is 10 miles per hour. PLEASE DRIVE SLOWLY. We have students on our campus during school hours and after school.

Pets

  • We allow dogs in the campground.
  • Campers are responsible for cleaning up after all animals. Not only is it a courtesy to your fellow campers, but the county ordinance also requires it.
  • All animals must be on a leash when outside of the camper, per local ordinance.

Prohibited Items or Activities

  • Ground fires are strictly prohibited and not allowed in any area of the campground or campus.
  • Do not drain off gray and black water tanks on site.
  • Please do not wash your vehicles and/or RVs while on campus.
  • Helium balloons may NOT be RELEASED from any location on the airport grounds including the campground, and are never permitted outside without advance written approval from SUN ‘n FUN and the Lakeland Linder International Airport. 
  • Drone Operations are NOT Permitted.
  • Smoking, including e-cigarettes, vapes, etc., is strictly prohibited inside and around the facilities and buildings.
