Here’s a recap of Girls in Aviation Day at the Aerospace Center for Excellence and the Florida Air Museum! The Women in Aviation Lakeland Chapter hosted Girls in Aviation Day with over 160 participants! There were many activities, including sectional chart scavenger hunts, button-making, coloring, weight-and-balance activities, poppers, and more!
The young women could fly the flight simulators, work with robot spheros, and interact with NOAA Science on a Sphere!
We even had vendors such as Piedmont Airlines, NOAA, Lakeland Linder International Airport, and Central Florida Aerospace Academy displayed for the young women to interact with and see the various aviation careers offered.
