Purpose and Scope

Jerry Holland believed aviation succeeds because of passionate people who continually learn, grow and invest in others. In that spirit, we are proud to support the next generation of aviation professionals by providing financial assistance to individuals pursuing education, training, certifications and career advancement across the aviation industry.
This scholarship opportunity will provide four (4), $8,000.00 scholarships to individuals who demonstrate a passion for aviation and a commitment to advancing their education or career within the industry. The scholarship is designed to support individuals pursuing education, training, certification or professional advancement in any aviation-related field. Applicants are encouraged to apply regardless of their chosen aviation career path. Scholarship recipients may pursue educational or professional development opportunities across the aviation industry, including but not limited to:
- Flight training and ratings
- Aviation maintenance and technical training
- Dispatch, operations and air traffic services
- Airport management
- Aviation business and leadership
- Aerospace engineering
- Aviation safety
- Continuing education
- Professional certifications
- College, university or trade school tuition
- Other aviation-related educational or career advancement opportunities
Applicants should clearly explain how the scholarship funds will support their educational pursuits, professional development or long-term career goals within the aviation industry.
Scholarship Funding
Scholarship funds will be paid directly to the recipient’s accredited educational institution, training provider or organization offering the approved aviation-related program. Recipients will be required to provide documentation verifying enrollment or acceptance into the applicable program, as well as any additional information necessary to facilitate payment. Scholarship funds may be used for approved aviation-related educational, certification, training or professional development expenses. Funds must be utilized within one (1) year of the award notification unless otherwise approved by the Aerospace Center for Excellence (ACE). Any unused or unclaimed scholarship funds after that period may be forfeited. ACE reserves the right to verify the intended use of scholarship funds prior to issuing payment.
Eligibility, Application, and Selection
Applicants must:
- Demonstrate a passion for aviation and a commitment to advancing within the aviation industry.
- Be pursuing or planning to pursue aviation-related education, training, certification or professional development.
- Be a legal resident of the United States of America.
- Be at least 18 years of age at time of application.
- Submit a completed application, including all required materials.
- Agree to these Terms & Conditions.
APPLICATION PERIOD
Applications will be accepted from September 1, 2026, through December 31, 2026.
Completed applications must be received by 11:59 p.m. EST on December 31, 2026.
Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
SELECTION PROCESS
Applications will be reviewed by a scholarship selection committee appointed by ACE, in partnership with Sheltair.
Recipients will be selected based on:
- Demonstrated passion for aviation
- Educational and career goals
- Quality of application responses
- Leadership, initiative and community involvement
- Overall potential to positively impact the aviation industry
If the selection committee determines additional evaluation is needed, finalists may be invited to participate in a virtual or in-person interview prior to final award decisions.
The committee’s decisions are final.
ACE reserves the right to award fewer than three scholarships if qualified applications are not received.
RECIPIENT RESPONSIBILITIES
Recipients agree to:
- Provide a photograph suitable for publication.
- Participate in reasonable promotional activities related to the scholarship program.
- Allow ACE and Sheltair to announce their name, hometown, educational institution and scholarship story through marketing, public relations and social media.
- Provide updates regarding their aviation journey if requested.
GENERAL TERMS
- Submission of an application constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
- All submitted application materials become the property of ACE and will not be returned.
- ACE reserves the right to modify, suspend or discontinue the scholarship program at its sole discretion.
- All decisions of the scholarship committee are final and are not subject to appeal.
