We are thrilled to announce the promotion of Melissa Goodson as the new Marketing Director at the SUN ‘n FUN and ACE campus.
Melissa has been with SUN ‘n FUN for 16 years, and at the forefront of visual graphics, creative graphics, brand monitoring/branding, digital marketing, vendor relations, and project management. Frequently recognized for her dedication and commitment to the work, Melissa has helped SUN ‘n FUN surpass its’ many goals year after year.
Did you know she has been the only graphic designer at SUN ‘n FUN since she was hired! Through many gained experiences, she became the Creative Design Manager where she showcased initiative and exemplary work ranging from the museum exhibit signage, to airplane skin design/fuselage, but not limited to the collectable SUN ‘n FUN Aerospace Expo posters, publication design, and many other creative collateral promoting SUN ‘n FUN. In recent years, she has replicated her success for the Aerospace Center For Excellence as well. Going above and beyond on a daily, Melissa states, “Because I love what I do, and it is a true passion and never gets boring!” A few of her favorite creative designs include the year the SUN ‘n FUN poster was made into an orange crate label, along with last years’ them of Back To The Future!
She brings a wealth of talent and knowledge to the Marketing Department and we are excited about her authentic and humble leadership. Her ability to analyze industry trends to determine the most promising strategies for this organization is invaluable. President and CEO, John “Lites” Leenhouts states, “Melissa exemplifies the culture we have spent years building here at SUN ‘n FUN, and has the technical chops that will take SUN ‘n FUN to a new exosphere!”
In her new position, Melissa will administrate marketing effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommending options and courses of action; and implementing directives. Congratulations Melissa on your new role! We look forward to watching you exceed every expectation that is set before you, as you have continuously exceeded every expectation that we set!
Outside of work, Melissa enjoys spending time with her 7-year old son Greyson, and 9 month old puppy, Phoenix. Her hobbies include traveling new places, diving into interior design, and her obsession with music. As a local foodie, she enjoys being in downtown Lakeland with a few hot spots you can find her at are: Grill Smith and Palace Pizza. As a leader within her community, Melissa has become a pillar for SUN ‘n FUN and now for the ACE campus. Melissa states, “ I have built a family here at SUN ‘n FUN, and they have been here with me through it all!” Join us in congratulating her.
