The Art of Composites
Merging materials to make something better is a concept that dates back to the Renaissance. The aviation industry has uitilized this art form to create a myriad of aircraft designs. In this fun art class, we will explore the process engineers use to create brand new materials. Then we will combine the individual qualities of fabric, glue, paint and spackle, cause some chemical reactions, and leave with a textured moonscape. We will also explore painting frescoes, another type of composite art.
This project is fun, easy, and no previous art experience is required!
Cost is $10 per person or FREE for Florida Air Museum members. All supplies will be included, and light breakfast fare will be served. This class is for ages 12 and up. Online registration is required, and payment will be made at the door.
