Simulated Flight School

Build Your Piloting Skills!

In this hands-on course, students will learn how airplanes fly and what it takes to become a pilot using professional-grade flight simulation. Through a mix of short video lessons, guided instruction, and real-time flight practice in our Redbird Flight Simulation Lab, students will explore the same core skills required to pass the FAA Private Pilot Practical Test.

Working in teams, students will take turns as pilot and copilot, learning how to control an aircraft, follow procedures, and communicate effectively—just like real flight crews. Over the course of the program, they’ll progress through a series of lessons that build from basic flight concepts to more advanced maneuvers. Successful completion of the course will earn students the opportunity to take a discovery flight in a real airplane so that they can test out the skills they have mastered throughout the year.

This course is designed for ages 11-18. Classes are held on Monday afternoons from 4:00-5:00 PM. Enrollment is limited to 20 students and is secured by using our online registration system. The class fee is $500 per student, with a $50 discount given to Florida Air Museum members. The Simulated Flight School calendar runs from September through March.
