Summer Camps

2025 Summer Camp Registration is Open!

The Aerospace Center for Excellence has been inspiring the next generation of aerospace professionals for more than 25 years. Launched in 1999, our summer camp programs have inspired and motivated young people from around the world. ACE provides a safe, fun, and engaging environment that promotes hands-on learning while fostering excitement in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) through aviation.

**If you have applied for a scholarship, DO NOT register for summer camp until you have received notice of the status of your application and have received your scholarship code.

STEMtastic Summer Camp is intended for KG – 5th grade students. Summer Campers will participate in a week-long experience in STEM! Each day of summer camp focuses on a different area of aerospace, engineering, robotics, rockets, and space. Camps include in-depth explorations, hands-on activities, science experiments, presentations, and much more! As campers move through each grade level camp, activities will advance in complexity.

Destination Aviation is our longest standing summer camp intended for 6th – 8th grade students. Experienced instructors will help campers dive into the world of aviation through experiential learning opportunities, hands-on activities, and flight simulation. Consider Destination Aviation as a camp for early aviators with little to no flight experience, but who are interested in pursuing their private pilot certificate. Campers will be introduced to the following: principles of flight, flight controls, flight instruments, weight and balance, aviation weather, airport operations, airspace, and navigation. Campers will then have the opportunity to participate in a 30-minute local exploratory flight with a certified flight instructor – observing first-hand the application of the concepts and skills learned during camp.

Our She Can Fly Summer Camp is intended for girls in 6th – 8th grade, who are interested in the world of aerospace. Campers will experience a one-of-a-kind summer camp that will introduce them to various aerospace careers from women who are airport designers, pilots, engineers, air traffic controllers, airport managers, A&P mechanics, and more! Campers will also have the opportunity to experience the sensation of flying in iFly’s state-of-the-art vertical wind tunnel after they participate in an immersive, hands-on experience guided by iFly STEM educators. Last but not least, campers will participate in a 30-minute exploratory flight with a certified flight instructor.

**This summer camp is taught and led by an all-female staff.

Our Take Flight Summer Camp is an advanced camp for 10th – 12th grade students, intended for those who are seriously interested in and are considering pursuing their private pilot certificate. Participating in accelerated ground school sessions covering the following topics; principles of flight, flight controls, flight instruments, weight and balance, performance, weather, airport operations, airspace, and navigation. After each session, campers will apply their instructional knowledge in our Redbird Flight Simulation Lab. At the end of the week, campers will take to the skies and fly in a general aviation aircraft with a certified flight instructor at Skyborne Airline Academy in Vero Beach, Florida and log their flight time in their very own logbook.

Our Aerospace Engineering Summer Camp is intended for 9th – 12th grade students, providing a fun, engaging learning environment where campers design and create projects while discovering underlying engineering principles and processes. While campers work on their projects, they will investigate the design process while exploring aerospace engineering disciplines. Various engineering challenges will provide campers with the opportunity to design and build with their teammates. Campers will also explore design principles using our 3D printers and CAD software. At the end of the week, during graduation, campers will showcase the results of their knowledge learned through the week with a culminating project.
